Jeffrey A. Jakub, a compelling realist, and prize-winning watercolorist, teacher, and illustrator, is among those named in Who’s Who in American Art, a catalog of fine artists used to identify the best of the art world in this country. He has won over 250 awards and 20 Viewer's Choice Awards over the past few years.
Jakub is "thrilled" with the Who’s Who nomination because it puts him among the best of not only national but international artists (the American Watercolor Society is an international association). It is an honor he’s dreamed of since his days as a very young artist. "To be in that select group is a life-long goal," he explains. "I feel honored not only for my work now, but all the years of art which led up to it." Among his other treasured awards are the Nell Storer Memorial Award from the American Watercolor Society, two Gold Medallion Grumbacher Awards, prizes and honors each year at the Beaufort County Fine Arts Show, and Best in Show at the North Carolina State Fair, which he won out of 2500 entries in the exhibit. Having studied and worked in New York and New Jersey for 25 years, Jakub resides in North Carolina where he maintains his studio. As partner/owner of Riverwalk Gallery, West Main Street, Washington, NC, he continues to conduct workshops in North Carolina, Boca Raton, Florida and other East Coast locations. He accepts commissioned projects as well. Jakub's works are on exhibit at the following locations:
